Using Particle Studio's particles in-game

I have noticed that many level designers use particle systems created in this software: http://www.quake3world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37893

I wanted to know if it’s possible to use them in, let’s say, rocket launcher explosion, machine gun spark hit on wall, grenade explosion, etc. The code is already in the engine, right? Isn’t this just a specific shader name?
