Hello, my XP computer died recently and I’m trying to rebuild it. However when I try to install Quake 3, I’m getting an error message. Actually two error messages. These are them:
I’m hoping someone can help me get this installation done.

**** I forgot to mention, it’s Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Might be an antivirus or a permissions issue blocking the files from being installed. Are you using an ISO image of the Quake 3 disc or an actual Quake 3 Disc?
It’s not an ISO image. It is an original Quake 3 disc. I can’t remember ever having this issue before. Let’s face it, XP doesn’t have the greatest security as far as software installation.
I did run as an administrator also, I thought maybe that caused the problem but no.
I’m going to try to do an xcopy on my original disc. I have another 160 GB hard drive that hopefully will work. But it would be great to solve this mystery in case I come across this again.
