This is a game-breaking bug for my server and a lot of my friends who run Q3 servers, too.
When a client is downloading a map from the server --- usually if the file size is above 5mb --- it will just hang when the download completes on the "awaiting gamestate" window. They have to manually /reconnect. And a lot of new players aren't aware of the reconnect command and will disconnect and find a new server to play at.
Does this have anything to do with the playerstate not being updated? Would a similar fix to https://github.com/zturtleman/ioq3/commit/46c2888d332f3b23f28d8dbef2ded7772415453b work?
