M2 macos 26.2 black screen freeze

Greetings!

I ve stumbled on an issue while playing on an m2 ultra mac studio( with macos tahoe) and came here to find out if anyone experienced the same. The issue is, i can launch and play the game normally after a system reset but if i close the app and launch it again, after closing the application for the second time it causes the computer to freeze on a black screen, resolved only by hard resseting the mac. I have followed the guides for installation and used the game files from my GoG purchase. Has anyone managed to fix this?

Thanks for reporting the issue, it’s a new one for us. You should be able to enable an ssh server on your mac and then manually “kill” the ioquake3 process over ssh from your phone, iPad, or another computer and then avoid having to force the computer to restart.
