# Team Arena - Hunk\_Alloc failed on 1439424 despite upping com\_hunkMegs

Hi. New here. I’ve searched the Hunk\_Alloc error, and I’ve attempted to set com\_hunkMegs to 128. I’ve tried to go for overkill by pushing it to 256, and even 512, to no avail. Still fails with the same error.

I have adjusted this value through the console, and I have also attempted to update the q3config.cfg file. Still the same error.

Am I missing something?

It’s easy to miss but com\_hunkmegs needs to be set on the command line or through a shortcut. [Players Guide – ioquake3](https://ioquake3.org/help/players-guide/#hunkalloc)
