Is there anyway to speed up the repletion of footstep sounds. I making some maps and I find I cross 80+ feet with 5 steps. I doubt it needs to be exactly realistic, although it need to be at least twice that to sound even somewhat realistic.
There is no way to change it without code changes. It requires changing code that runs on the server and client; qagame and cgame QVMs. See PM_Footsteps function in code/game/bg_pmove.c.
